DRAMA CLASS Drama Class have been excited to perform in the RSAC Showcase at the Bryan Brown Theatre in Bankstown the past two years. We created a new piece called ‘The Chefs’ where we explored making soundscapes to support our movement. As Chefs we used all kitchen utensils to make the sounds.
DRAMA COMPANY Drama Company has welcomed new members this year and we have developed skills in teamwork, improvisation, creative expression and script development. We look forward to another wonderful, creative year ahead.

All abilities are welcome, included and supported. The classes provide a creative and inclusive space for students to explore self-expression through hands-on activities. Sessions focus on developing fine motor skills, imagination and confidence using a variety of materials. Our projects encourage individual creativity, while fostering teamwork and collaboration. Feedback has highlighted the therapeutic and developmental value of the class. The class have just taken part in their first open art exhibition at Kogarah Library.
Each week we dim the white fluoro lights and turn up the old mood / disco lighting, start up the Karaoke machine and sing through a wide range of songs and genres. Some favourites have stuck from the choir days like Bruno Mars, Abba and Mariah Carey but we also sing more country and some new tunes from new artists. All sing together but there is only one microphone to hand around. The person with the mic picks the tune and we all sing along usually with clapping and laughter at the end to signal a great rendition attempted and achieved. Karaoke have opportunities to perform live to an audience and we are all very excited and working on songs to create memorable events.
Since the inception of the group, we have worked together to understand better all kinds and types of groove-based music with it not being unusual to go from pop, dance to rock and heavy metal, funk, blues, jazz and traditional African dance. The diverse styles and types seem to keep all happily coming back for more week in week out.
As well as the weekly rehearsals our Drummers have been heard and seen at the Christmas Big Day Out and look forward to the Talent Showcase in August. I am very proud of the whole group for their enthusiasm from week to week and their professionalism and musicianship regarding their public performances.
