How We Operate

To Join RSAC

Before starting any RSAC activity, you will need to complete the RSAC Membership Form. You can return the form via email, mail or hand them in at the RSAC office. Let us know what you would like to do and when you would like to start and we will notify the program manager and instructor. A copy of your membership form will be provided to your program managers and coaches so they can support you the best way possible.

Add or Change Activities

You can change or join different RSAC activities at any time, but you must let the RSAC office know as we will need to inform the program manager and coaches as well as provide them with a copy of your membership form.

To Pay by NDIS

Please let us know if you would like to use your NDIS Funding by completing this section on your Membership Form. Should there be any changes to your NDIS Funding, please advise the RSAC Office so that we can update our records. An invoice will be sent to your nominated funding manager (NDIA, Self-Manage, Plan-Managed) based on your attendance.

Membership & Plan Implementation Fees

All RSAC participants pay a small Annual Membership each year to help with administration and insurance costs. For those who are using their NDIS Funding, a Plan Implementation Fee for 3hrs a year will be invoiced.

Respite and Travel Programs

At RSACs, we’re dedicated to providing transformative experiences that empower participants to achieve their personal goals while exploring new places, trying exciting activities, and fostering meaningful social connections. Our diverse range of programs is designed to facilitate personal development in key areas such as social skills, independent living, daily life management, budgeting and money management, decision-making, and community engagement.

We understand that some travellers may require one-on-one support or have specific personal care needs. That’s why we welcome participants to bring their own support person or arrange for a paid support worker to accompany them, ensuring they receive the additional care and assistance they require to fully enjoy their experience.

Moreover, some of our travel opportunities are inclusive and open to family members who may wish to join in the adventure, creating opportunities for shared memories and bonding experiences. They pay their own expenses but are included as part of the travel team.

Family Getaways: For families including a person with disability to share time and have a great inclusive time away from home, with friends. Non NDIS participants pay all their own expenses.

Camps for all abilities: Group camps which include those that are independent nut inclusive for those who need more support or requiring higher support, while fun for all.

Road Trips: A travelling program where participants get to experience lots of places, usually travelling by minibus.

Overseas and Interstate Travel: For more experienced and independent travellers. Travellers are involved in selecting destinations and activities. Most expenses are paid by the participant.

Kids & Carers Camps

These fall into the family style camp, where each person who requires support is accompanied and carers (often a parent) get some respite from routine and a chance to catch up with other families and carers. The camps are fully supported and have a program and staff to ensure everyone’s needs are met. This is open aged from younger children to more senior participants. Note: Non NDIS participants cover own expenses.

Our Vision, Mission & Values

RSAC Vision

The vision for RSAC’s future is that by 2030:

• RSAC will be widely recognised in the disability and disability support communities as a provider of quality services and programs for people with disability and support for families in the south/south-west and adjacent areas of Greater Sydney.

• RSAC will be widely recognised as an excellent provider of quality online programs to the disability community.

• RSAC will be acknowledged and recognised as an excellent provider of services by the NDIA and other key stakeholders.

RSAC mission

RSAC will continue to be a flexible, participant-focused organization providing specialized services to people with disability and their carers and families, in line with the needs of its community.

It will work collaboratively to meet the needs of its stakeholders including participants, families, workers, volunteers, government,and strategic partners.

Coaches

Coaches may be staff, external contractors or volunteers, dependent on needs, opportunities and requirements.

All coaches and support staff have an appropriate working with children checks and screening.

All work with the same aim to provide excellent services to their program participants.

Volunteers

Most RSAC activities from office assistance, fundraising BBQ’s to holidays and program support rely almost entirely on volunteers.

Around 80 volunteers make up the workforce including parents, carers, siblings, community members and supporters from various backgrounds.

Some have volunteered for over 30 years and most have a weekly activity they support.

More volunteers are always needed and welcome. RSAC’s diversity of activities rely on volunteer support.

Sponsors & Supporters

RSAC’s major sponsor is Bankstown Sports Club that provides our wonderful office and program space. The impact of this donation in assisting RSAC to achieve its aims cannot be overstated.

Other major supporters include Mount Lewis Bowling Club and Club Rivers, both through Club Grants and venue provision. Canterbury Bankstown Council has always supported RSAC from the first night of operation at Roselands Pool to present day Community Grants. Many other donations, grants and support have assisted RSAC to continue and grow to meet the needs of people with disability in the local community. RSAC rely on them all.
